Psalm 139:14
Through the Study of The Bible and the washing and regeneration of the Holy Spirit We Serve God as Anointed Vessels for "His" use.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7(KJV)
Who is Sistah’s of the Spirit S.O.S. Ministry?
Our History:
In 2006, a group of members of the St. John’s Baptist Church of Harlem, NY (Minister Danita Hammock, the late Sister Delores Fields, and Sister Wanda Whitehurst) would pray and intercede on the phone for Ms. Lillian Lewis when she was having some family problems. These women wanted to continue praying on the phone as well as study the Bible. They asked Reverend Sherrylyn Womble to be the facilitator; They invited other women to the ministry such as Sister Andrea Goodwin, Sister Era Habersham, Sister Crystal Turner, Deacon Adrienne Mumford, Sister Rene Scott, Sister Viola Johnson, Sister Tiffanie Solomon, and Sister Karen Gamble. With prayer, and the guidance of The Holy Spirit, we decided on a name and Sistah’s of the Spirit (SOS) Ministry was born.
We began having Intercessory prayer and Bible Study at 6 am daily; in addition we have had small fellowships. We have studied the entire Old Testament and have begun New Testament study. We intercede daily and pray for healing and deliverance on issues that affect our families, Church families and Country. We pull down strongholds and often share when God has answered our prayers. We know that God is our Jehovah Jireh our Provider, Jehovah Raphe our Healer and Jehovah Shalom our peace.
Today S.O.S. has a website that spreads the word of the Ministry, Evangelizes and provides bible study, devotion and notification of events. We are on Facebook and Twitter and have online prayer requests. S.O.S. consists of faithful women of various congregations including members of St. John’s Baptist Church, Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Walker Memorial Baptist Church, New Life Cathedral and Soul Saving Station to name a few. We also cross state lines and include members from Maryland, Florida, Alabama and North Carolina.
