"Safety Diva" (TM) " Safety is not the absence of danger, but is the presence of God"

My Spiritual relationship with my Creator sustains me. I have attended revivals, conferences, services you name it. I have consecrated, fasted and prayed continually. I have gone from being a sponge (enabler, co-dependent) but still compassionate, to a rock. A rock is strong, independent but impenetrable. While I was being equipped, empowered and learning to endure I liked being a rock but only for a while. I realize God blessed me to be a blessing. So I now know I am like a tree rooted and grounded planted by the rivers of water. I am a channel for change. I am interdependent and resourceful. I have a sustainable "Passion" for SUCCESS!

I have a calling for consulting in the Health Ministry. I use my spiritual gifts and God's FAVOR he grants me prosper and to be utilized in the Body of Christ. I have completed my Ministry goals for our communications by updating, completing and launching this SOS Ministry Web site which has stemmed from our 6 am morning prayer line of over 7 years. Through the inspiration from God, I have built the SOS Ministry FaceBook and Twitter page.

“With a demanding vocation, I maintain a Holistic approach to life and my profession. Balance is a Mind, Body, and Spirit at PEACE. I am extreme about the great stuff but try to maintain a balance and PEACE within. Although I am extremely busy, I will make time for the right people, places, and things and stop to explore nature’s awesome wonders. Time is a precious commodity I am not into wasting mine. I love to relax and de-stress. I enjoy Spas, laughter, seafood, cooking, and driving my car. I am adventurous and love Travel.

Blessings and Favor,

Sister Crystal aka “Safety Diva”

Community Work

Abyssinian Baptist Church Facilitator Blue Nile Rites of Passage Inc. Greenburgh/WP December 2010

I served as a Facilitator for Teenage Girls for The Greenburgh-WP Blue Nile Rites of Passage Daughters (In Training). Blue Nile of Greenburgh. Blue Nile Passage, Inc. is dedicated to the spiritual, cultural and moral character development of America’s youth. They are a manhood and womanhood training program which started at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in 1994. Blue Nile of Greenburgh currently operates its Rights-of-Passage component out of Theodore Young Community Center, Greenburgh, NY. Saturdays from 8:45am-2pm, beginning in January of each year and running through May. Young men and women ages 12 to 15 years of age from the area attend. Blue Nile of Greenburgh Rights-of-Passage encompasses areas of knowledge and spiritual rituals needed to support and sustain a positive and productive life. Seven “Principles of Living” were created and built into the program curriculum: Personal growth & development Health & Wellness Spiritual Grounding Historical Black Experience Economic Awareness Community Consciousness PoliticsThe Rites of Passage component consists of the Sons and the Daughters of The Blue Nile. This component equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and tools they will need to navigate the turbulent waters during puberty and adolescence. It provides information to help them understand who they are, where they have come from, where they must go and provide guidance to help them get to their place of destiny. The program provides seeds of wisdom that will allow them to become positive and productive members of society. It gives them tools to unlock doors to success and to see the world through an African-centered, Christian based perspective. The program is a nine-month interactive program that culminates in with two passing through ceremonies, one for the Daughters and one for the Sons. Those who pass through attend a weekend retreat at a sleep-away camp where the youth participate in team building activities including low and high-ropes, a picnic, debate teams, basketball games and a sacred passing-through ceremony in the woods at night. In addition to the integration of culturally rooted customs and rituals, there are seven principles of enrichment in which youth are instructed. Each of the seven principles is taught in four-week intervals and includes interactive lessons. Field trips to cultural, historical, theatrical, sporting and other venues such as trips to prison are also extending which enhance the principles taught. I presented a three-part interactive lesson over a three week period on Health and Wellness (Health and Wellness Overview, Teen Sexuality and Fitness). The emphasis was on Health Disparities that teens, especially of color, currently face and how they can take a Holistic Approach to Wellness. I took a “no-nonsense” and “real” approach to understand and the pertinent issues and preventing the diseases and health issues that are at alarming rates like HIV/AIDS and Diabetes, which are killing our net generation. I prepared an extensive internet, interactive PowerPoint presentation with a final Quiz Evaluation.
